Changing priorities

Well, this client I have has been having a series of ...er, issues in the last month. The result of these issues is a lot of work for me. Now. Like "Why didn't you anticipate this 2 months ago?!?" well, duh....

This week has been particularly frustrating. On Monday I arrived to do a scheduled upgrade on 2 instruments. Unfortunately 1 was being used for the next 8 hours. So I called my contact and said I was leaving to do something for another project and I would be back on Tuesday to do the work and please make sure the 2 instruments were available.

Tuesday....the instrument being used Monday is available but the OTHER of the two instruments is now being used. Shit. Go home and fire off another VM.

Wednesday...both instruments available. Good. Start work.

Thursday...do some good work. Then get called to a meeting and guess what. This current project isn't the top priority anymore. So let's figure out the next 25 days of work to accomplish and put this TOP PRIORITY project on hold.
