Movie Night

Tonight’s movie selection include:

1) Logan’s Run

Life in the year 2274 is a carnival of pleasures. Life in an enclosed underground city is idealic. -- until you hit age 30. An all-powerful state kills those who reach their third decade, and cop Logan 5 is in charge of capturing "runners" who try to escape their fate. Follow Logan’s life as he is charged with tracking down and finding the renegades who live ‘outside.’

2) Total Recall

They stole his mind, and now he has to get it back. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Douglas Quaid, a mild-mannered construction worker -- or so he thinks. A virtual trip to Mars toggles a brain implant that reveals a strange affinity for the red planet. But once he gets there, his true identity -- an intelligence agent -- may get him killed before he can unravel the mystery. Follow the twists and turns in the amazingly well written and thought provoking scifi movie.

3) Old School

Three guys in their early thirties -- Mitch (Luke Wilson), Frank (Will Ferrell) and Beanie (Vince Vaughn) -- try to relive their old college glory days by moving into a large house near their old campus. There, they form an "unofficial fraternity" where current students can party hardy -- without the responsibility that comes with having to abide by the university's fraternity rules!

Dinner will include chicken breasts marinated in garlic oil and sautéed in tomato sauce. Served with couscous and mushrooms.

Movies will start around 7 and dinner served around 8:15 (will be kept warm for latecomers)

Thunderstorms

This region astounds me. This morning it was gorgeous out. Warm (85s), sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect for going out shopping for BBQ supplies. Then 3 pm rolls around and WHAM, the side of my house is being hammered by rain. I can't believe it. Hmmmm ... it seems to have stopped momentarily. I think I'll go out and light the briquettes....maybe a vain hope, but we'll see ;-)

Just call me the eternal optomist ...at least when it comes to food.

Hits

I just checked my site statistics and it appears that my blog page is the most popular page on the site. I find this a little surprizing since I removed the like from the main page. Who are you folks? Add a comment or sign my guestbook.

Thanks for stopping by. - Tumbleweed

Hehe

Found this in the local paper today...

"Larry Brown is like that guy or girl in high school who was nice to you but had a bad reputation. You couldn't fathom all the horror stories were true until you found out you had been added to the list of carcasses on the side of the road."

What an apt description :-)
