So I'm in grad school now. Mind you I didn't mean to apply to grad school. I just wanted to take one class at Johns Hopkins over the summer. Somehow I got into the MS in Technical Management program.
My friend Allison said "Lance, you're the only person I know who would accidentally get into grad school!"
It's probably a good thing it happened this way. Otherwise I would have been a stress case. I read through the degree program yesterday and there are some interesting classes. I think I'll see how the summer class goes. If I like it I'll probably stay with the program.
What a wierd way to get a Masters.
This week is going to be a busy one for me. As well as a kudos and ego boost too. Two of my closest friends are visiting for the weekend. Lisa and Allison. Yay! Good thing they like each other.
I was chatting with Allison the other night and she gave me the best compliment of my life. And I don't even think she meant to do it. She just off-handedly mentioned that I 'get' things that most people simply don't understand. Big warm fuzzy feeling for me.
Last night Lisa called and said she wanted to do dinner. Cool. She kinda forgot that it was rush hour and the Metro was packed with smelly people. But I rescued her with an iced coffee and all was well in the world.
Yay.
Well, after a month of waiting my new Gas Range was delivered and the gas line installed ... sort of ;-)
But let me say how awesome it is to cook with gas. My stir fry's are crispy, the soups easy to make. It's just awesome!
Of course, the plumber who installed the gas line did it in such a way that the stove won't actually fit flush against the wall. The manager is pissed and assured me that they would come out and fix it. I was also annoyed that they left my place a mess. There was debris scattered everywhere.
I'm hoping that tomorrow Rebecca will come to pick up my old stove so that I can park in the garage again!
