Pressure
Oh wow!!
We did a test today at work about some safety coatings on glass bottles. The idea is to contain any shards of glass if the bottle ruptures from over pressurization.
Fist test. 500ml bottle. Just used dry ice and water. It blew after 45 seconds. Sounded like a shotgun blast. Amazingly the coating held most of the fragments.
Next test a 1L bottle. This time we put a gauge on it. It got up to 140 PSI and didn't blow. I probably had a loose fitting somewhere.
Last test a 1L bottle. No gauge. 2:16 in and it went. Dear god it was loud. The coating had no chance. It shattered. The box the bottle was in was ripped apart. The bag the box was in was shredded. The 30 gal plastic trash can the stuff was in was scored and the lid blew off. Damn.
It was awesome.

Out of shape!
I went for a bike ride yesterday. Just a quick 15 minute ride down to Hard Times to read and enjoy a Guinness. Couple of gentle hills, no big deal.
Ugh. I was in such pain. I am REALLY out of shape. I think I'm gonna have to start riding to work again even though it's dangerous. I desperately need the excercise.
I think I found a relatively safe route...at least the sidewalks are mostly clear in the areas there aren't real bike paths. And only a couple of exit spots from shopping centers to deal with. The way home is easier, more backroads. Well, we shall see how this goes.
